Hi everyone! Art at the beach! Is this for real??- My two favorite things! Welcome to my photo gallery - this is a photo of my sale and show in Atlantic Beach, New York.
This is a handmade glass pendant. This pendant is yellow and chocolate brown with hints of blue sparkle in the brown areas. The glass is reflective and changes colors in light. Each pendant is shipped with a personalized gift box and gift bag. Package also includes a note card signed by Jeanne.
Only the best quality Bullseye 90 COE glass is used. Glass includes fusible and dichroic. Each pendant is designed by hand by laying various colors of glass and fully fused. It is then cold worked using glass grinders and machinery at Jeanne's studio. The glass pendant is fired for a second time to 1500 degrees in a glass kiln. Hardware is placed on the pendant and a chain or cord is matched up with the colors of the glass to create a beautiful finished piece of truly unique wearable art.
This was an order of "end of the year teachers gifts", for a client. Teachers love and appreciate a hand-made token at the end of the school year. Is is a wonderful way to say "thank you" to a special teacher.
I am not afraid to try new things! This is a photograph as I finished two large beach paintings. I used resin, a blow torch and power sander to get the job done! Just a typical summer day in my studio - you know....a blow torch, power sander and respirator - it's all in good fun!
Jeanne, was born in Fresh Meadows, New York. She has been called the “Mad Scientist”! Jeanne has been fusing glass for several years, and was introduced to it in the Bahamas, she became obsessed! Jeanne spends hours creating jewelry her studio.

These glass pendants just came fresh out of the kiln - like chocolate chip cookies out of the oven, they are still piping hot!
I am a high school art teacher in Queens, NY. I love being goofy in the classroom and make my students laugh. I think that one of the most important tings in life is to laugh at yourself. Often, I feel as if I am in a movie and I am the part of the comic relief. Crazy and silly things always seem to happen to me - could you believe that happened to me???!!!!!

Each sparkling pendant is one of a kind and unique in every way. It will make an impression statement as a one of a kind gift! This is what the jewelry looks like after it is fired for the first time at 1500 degrees. It all melts together like a grilled cheese sandwich! Then the real fun starts with power tools - my 4 foot drill press, grinders and a dremel. I also recently purchased a soldering iron. The bell keeps ringing and packages keep coming to my door step with crazy tools - so much fun!
This is a handful! The glass reminds me of the scene at the end of the movie "The Goonies" where the bagful of gems is dumped out to save the day! The glass sparkles and looks so special!
I love fusing glass! Each piece is a glimmering surprise!
This is my daughter Violet. She is modeling several glass pendants. Violet is a diva and is always on the fashion trend.
This is a photo of me in my art classroom - I love to experiment with new mediums and techniques. My art student Mariana, drew this portrait of me. I love it and treasure it.
Bullseye glass company in Mamaroneck NY...... Road trip anyone? great place to look at glass and take classes. I made it there - worth the trip!
I am a graduate of Parsons School of Design, Illustration major. I ventured into NYC to visit. It was great being back in the Village! Visiting Parsons was a great experience! I has changed so much but, some things are exactly the same! I have memories of the elevator ride each day up to the 11th floor!
I love NYC! No place like it in the world! The MET, Central Park, best hot dogs ever - and not to mention the shopping!!!!!!
Just another day in the office! Sand between your toes, the sound of the ocean - serene relaxation! There is nothing like the summer - a pause button on the movie of life! I try to remind myself to sit back and enjoy the ride!
The Sands - Atlantic Beach, NY. One of the best places on Earth!
This is a before and after image.....to the left is cut glass. It is not yet fired in the kiln. The glass is cut and layered. On the right the image is after it has been fired at 1500 degrees. It all melts and comes together. This is an image of....a beach scene.
Cut strips of glass, frit, glass collage and final fired glass art. This gives you an idea of the step by step process of creating a glass design.
This is what dichroic glass looks like before it is fired. It is hard to tell which side of the glass is the "dichro" side. If you hold a tooth pick at a certain angle touching the glass you can figure which side of the glass is coated with dichro.
Dichro coating on black glass. It has a completely different look then on clear glass.
What is dichroic glass -Dichroic glass is glass which displays two different colors by undergoing a color change in certain lighting conditions. One dichroic material is a modern composite non-translucent glass that is produced by stacking layers of glass and layers of metals which give the glass shifting colors depending on the angle of view, causing an array of colors to be displayed.
Dichroic glass, commonly called dichro for short, literally means "two colored." It has fantastic multicolored and reflective properties. When you look at this glass, it appears to have more than one color at the same time, especially when viewed with different lighting.
A glass cutter and jewelry hammer help in trimming the glass to a pendant size. Draw a circle with a sharpie, using a circle template. Next use a drill press to cut the hole in the glass.
Glass cutting tools used for the design phase. It really helps to stay organized . I am always learning new ideas and techniques.
These stunning glass pendants are fresh out of the kiln! It is the second time they have been fired to 1500 degrees. When the lid is opened it is a relief to see that they came out OK, with out exploding or melting all together!
Frit - to describe it best is, glass powder. You can get it in different consistencies. Fine, medium and coarse. It also comes in opalescent and transparent. The possibilities are endless!
Let's do this! I got a new power tool yeah! This beautiful drill press arrived on my door step - amazing!!!!
This is a dichroic glass collage. The glass was cut into strips and placed on a piece of 4"x4" clear glass base. After the initial design process it goes into the kiln to 1500 degrees. After a slow cool down it is cold worked and re-fired.
Dichro glass after the first firing. After this phase glass is drilled into various shapes and fired again to make pendants.
Say hello to my fifth child! This is my kiln reaching 1600 degrees! It gets fiery hot, and sometimes decides to explode things. I have to show it who is boss!!! Come on now - act nice and behave!!!!
Last summer I spent a lot of time painting - I decided to re-create one of my favorite paintings with glass. I love the beach, it reminds me of summer and peace. As a teacher, summer symbolizes a break in life to re-charge my creative spirit.
