Glass Fusion - Have you ever taken a hot kiln home in your car trunk???? That is obsession!!!!!

Hi, and welcome to my shop! I am thrilled to hostess you and hope you stay awhile – can I offer you a latte!? I am Jeanne Buccino, I was born in Fresh Meadows, New York. I have been called the “Mad Scientist” for as long as I can remember. I have always loved art, creating and experimenting. My favorite place growing up was my high school art classroom – called the “art cottage”. I would escape there and loose myself in drawing and painting. My dreams came true when I was accepted into art school and attended Parsons School of Design in NYC. I majored in Illustration and enjoyed art school in the heart of NYC. After graduation, I enrolled at Queens College, and received a MSED in art education. I am currently a high school art teacher in NYC. I love my profession and my students. I have the privilege of learning and growing as an artist every day. Both my colleagues and students are truly inspirational. I love to experiment in a variety of mediums. I am currently a dichro glass fusion addict. It is therapeutic in every way. Each glass pendant is an insight to emotion and spontaneity. Creating art is equivalent to being on a motorcycle ride! I am also a mother of four children, they inspire me each day to never give up on my dreams! I live in East Rockaway/Lynbrook, NY. My children, teaching and glass addiction keep me busy and creative each moment! I mean what could be better than a burning kiln, glass grinder and a blow torch?
I have been fusing glass for several years. I was introduced to the art form in the Bahamas and became completely obsessed! I studied glass art with several artists in Massachusetts. This year I had the privilege to bring glass fusion techniques into my high school art classroom. My students thrived and share my love for glass. Together we create glass art and showcase to the entire school. Over the past year I have created a glass workshop studio of my own. I spend countless hours creating jewelry and wearables for family, friends and community members. I have recently embraced the dream to showcase my art work at galleries and open my own Etsy Shop. I thank you for taking the time to read my story and share in my experience! The crazy art teacher signing off!!!!!
